Risks and rewards of online dating

As the cost of college goes up, so does the average number of teen sexual partners.

Basically, all decisions involve some sort of analysis of risk vs.

But our research, published in Personality and Individual Differences, found that some people who use these methods of finding love have a far more antisocial agenda.

I've already discussed how internet trolls in general are more likely to be male, and are more likely to have higher levels of "darker" personality traits, including nonclinical psychopathy and sadism.

The framework comprises four ‘spheres of obligation’—to self, interpersonal relationships, online social norms, and broad community-level values— that function as implicit limits on self-multiplicity.

Subjects varied in the weight they gave to each sphere when deciding how to express themselves in this networked era.

(On the whole, college women are more interested in longer-term relationships, while college men are more interested in casual hook-ups; in a situation where women outnumber men and are essentially competing for a scarce resource, the women are more likely to enter into relationships that don't meet their ideal criteria--basically, the men have more power here.)Besides being entertaining, some of the studies here are pretty sobering.
