Milford police have arrested a homeless man following a sexual assault at a local hotel, Sunday, May 7 at the Days Inn at 699 N. Police located Fletcher three days later and he has been charged with second-degree rape without consent and fourth-degree rape without consent.
Arriving police learned the alleged assault took place in the hotel’s kitchen, and identified Justin Fletcher, 18, as the suspect.
This position is also responsible for developing partnerships with Food Bank of Delaware member agencies and hunger relief partners in New Castle County, as needed, to achieve education and outreach objectives.
Human trafficking, with victims being forced into prostitution, is an ongoing issue here, Yolanda Schlabach says in her presentations.
Yolanda Schlabach, founder of Greenwood-based nonprofit Zoë Ministries, has spent almost a decade trying to bring attention to sex trafficking, the use of violence, intimidation, fraud or coercion of an underage person to provide or obtain sexual services against their will.
Schlabach spoke at a forum in Lincoln Thursday to let Delawareans know what sex trafficking looks like, how to identify it and what actions to take, and also on the need for infrastructure to support victims.
Fletcher is due to appear May 19 in the Kent County Court of Common Pleas.
