All of the pictures show the standard 16 gauge (2 9/16) on the top and the magnum 16 gauge (2 3/4) on the bottom.
Remington Year of Manufacture Codes maybe found on the barrel of your Remington rifle [or shotgun] on the left side, just forward of the receiver; the first letter of the Code is the month of manufacture, followed by one or two letters which are the year of manufacture.
For shotguns with removeable barrels, the code will be valid for the manufacture of the barrel; maybe for the receiver, as barrels do get switched around.
I know of three flat out wrong answers they have given out, and they say one of my guns doesn't even exist - a 5 digit Model 1100. I offered a picture, but they wanted to see the gun. I didn't have the heart to tell them I once owned a 4 digit one. I agree that a sticky on this page and the Gun ID Archive would save many having to post the question.
